A nice call back to more savage MeloDeath from the early 2000s. This is one of those albums that would fit in the time that it emulates pretty well. Would it be a classic even if released 20 years ago? No, but it still would've been a great album. 3.5/5

Doom Metal has finally realized its unholy fusion with Black Metal perfectly by this point. Annihilation Rite perfectly fuse slow, hypnotic dirges with the grime of nasty Death Metal and the suffocating atmosphere of Black Metal. This band will do great things. 4.5/5
